Aurelius' Picks For Fall Shows

Well guys, it's the almost the fourth week of September, and by now, most shows have already started or are starting up this week. I know I have my fair share of picks. So here are a few shows that I will be watching this Fall:

1. Law and Order: SVU- This show is amazing, it's as easy as that. It's about some detectives and the people they work with. It's so great because every episode is a different case that they are working on so if you have never seen this show before, you could start watching it without getting confused. The Season 8 premiere is this Tuesday, 10 PM EST on NBC.

2. Heroes- I'll admit, I didn't start watching this show until the beginning of this month while renting the DVD, but when I did, I fell in love with it. This show revolves around a bunch of people who have amazing gifts and all the troubles they go through with them. According to TV.com, Heroes is the highest rated show. The Season 2 premiere is Tonight (Monday) at 9 PM EST on NBC. I am so pumped.

3. I Love New York 2- Now I just named two dramas, but for every two dramas, you have to throw in a reality show. Miss Tiffany "New York" Pollard is back to find love...for the fourth time! She has gathered twenty men together in a house that was once used for the Surreal Life, and she is gonna date'em all to see which one is "the love of her life". If you want something to laugh at, I suggest you watch this show on it's Season 2 premiere Monday October 8th at 9 PM EST.

Here's my dilemma. If you haven't been paying attention, Heroes and I Love New York 2 air on the same exact day at the same exact time. What ever shall we do?? Well, sorry New York, but I can always download/watch a re-run to your show, and I can't for Heroes. And plus, Heroes cannot be compared to I Love New York 2. In fact, we shouldn't use Heroes and..."that other show" in the same sentence.

Heroes Star's Loony Ways

Hayden Panettiere from NBC's Heroes is very sexy, but also a bit of a psycho. Allegedly, on Sunday at the Prime Time Emmy's, Hayden threatened journalists saying she would "kill" a reporter if they reported about her love life. It's said that the article in "US Weekly" that had caused her to be infuriated was about her recent break up with Laguna Beach star Stephen Colletti (people used to tell me I looked like him).

The article asked her where Stephen was at the MTV Video Awards and she replied, "I don't know. In California?" She was pissed and lost her temper at the reporter, but was restrained by her publicist (I need one of these) who told her "the red carpet was not the place".

So that goes to show you don't mess with actresses, especially high maintenance ones like the ladies from Heroes. You don't FUCK with Clair Bennet, even if she is just from a TV show. She is indestructible and isn't to be taken on by the faint hearted. I hope you now realize the seriousness of this situation and my insanity level. Have a nice day! :)

Aanand's Annoying Actors/Actresses

Today on AAA/A , I tackle not just one actress, but an entire "herd", if you will, of brainless, ancient, loudmouthed women, AKA the cast of The View.

By now, even the poor bean farmers in Peru know about the whole Star Jones/Rosie era of The View, and the chaotic and amusing antics that those two cows brought us during their stint on network TV. They annoy me, but they're not who i'm going to talk about today.

Recently on The View, Whoopi Goldberg (who i believe has been cursed by Kathy Najimy), who is now a cohost on The View, was having a "discussion" about who knows what. Eventually, it came down to a simple, 2nd grade question, posed to Sherri Shepherd, a female "comedian" and co-host of the show. Whoopi asked Shepherd if the earth, which by the way is the planet WE live on, is flat. Shepherd looked astounded, as if she had just been kicked in the proverbial balls, and continued to act like a flabergasted nut case. She first responded, "…I don't know" and expanded that she "never thought about it", as it was more important to her that she thought about how she was "going to feed my child". I don't know how Whoopi managed not to reach across the table and bitch slap Shephard, but my guess is that she took pity on the poor creature.

This is despicable and it makes me want to stomp a small child to death. Shepherd's apology the next day was no better. She claimed that she was so nervous that day that when Whoopi asked her the question, she heard something much more complicated and scientific. My guess was that she heard "Sherri, what is 2 plus 2?".

I cannot think of someone more ignorant than this woman. I personally want to rip off her eyelids. It is unacceptable for a TV personality to be this dim-witted. In my opinion, the entire cast of The View should be liquidated, and replaced by farm animals. At least the farm animals will do something interesting, like defecate on the studio audience. You'd never see Joy Behar do that. Anyways, that's just my opinion. Peace out cub scouts.

50 Cent and Kanye West Battle

So, if you haven't already heard of the Kanye West/50 Cent rap album battle, then you need to get out more.

Hardcore rapper 50 Cent and American record producer and rapper Kanye West have been building the anticipation for September 11th. No, not because of the terrorist attacks, but because on that day, they were both dropping there albums. Kanye was actually the one who changed his album release from Sept. 18 to the 11th. And when 50 Cent heard about this, he decided to have a popularity contest and have a little battle. He said he would quit his solo career if Kanye sold more albums than him. What is this, the third grade?

So Septemeber 11th has passed, and who is victorious? I would have to say Kanye West, well, in the UK at least. Click Here to read about how Kanye's album beat "Fiddy's". The US results are yet to be determined, but so far, Kanye is winning.

In my opinion, I'm ecstatic! I am glad that 50 tried to prove a point, and got his ass shut down. Don't get me wrong, he is VERY talented, and I love his music, but this little competition was so childish. And you don't mess with Kanye, because not only rap fans like his music, but living in a town of punk rockers, I noticed EVERYONE likes his music. Now excuse me while I go listen to "Graduation"

2007 Emmy Picks

Remember when this blog was only gonna be about movies, hence the name "The Double Feature" with double meaning Aurelius and Aanand. Well now, we have started writing about TV shows and music and also have two other authors. So what the hell, whatever you people like.

So it's that time of year people, for the Emmys. If you aren't to quick on the uptake, the Emmys is an award show once a year for TV Shows/TV Movies. Now normally, I sit all night and pout because my mom takes the TV in the family room to watch it, but now I'm older, and maybe I should watch it since I've become such a huge TV fan.

My favorite non-VH1 (god, what has my life become?!) are probably Law and Order: SVU and Heroes. Now I just started watching Heroes this month, because my brother has been renting the discs from Blockbuster, and I'm on episode 13 I think. That show is literally amazing, and if you haven't seen it, you need to go to your local movie rental shop and get caught up before Season 2.

So, with this two shows in mind, I'm hoping some winners from both shows. The nominations for Heroes are:
  • Outstanding Drama Series

  • Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series- Masi Oka

The nominations for Law and Order: SVU are:
  • Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series- Mariska Hargitay
